File this under “stuff I added to entertain myself.” Or at least that is how it started. A group of us were involved in a side project to add critters to the game (more on the critter group in another post). It occurred to me I have never seen a creature as small as a real bug in a video game. In a game like Skyrim where there is time to stop and look at everything there is a chance the player will notice them. Once they do their imagination can fill in a whole layer of additional micro detail in the world even if they only glimpsed it once.
The added bonus of special little details like this is they generate YouTube videos which generate blog posts and generally more discussion about the game.
