Skyrim Cobweb “Doors”

These were added to Skyrim as part of my
ambient FX pass on the first dungeon we created for the vertical slice,
Bleak Falls Barrow.
Never one to take the easy road

I tried to imagine how to give all of the fx for the dungeons  purposeful interaction with
the player. I wanted to sell the idea to the player they were the first
ones to come in this place in a long time.

To achieve that I built the webs with a trigger box and a script to swap to a second broken state as the player passed through. Both states were skinned to two bones to create the movement of air against the webs. When opened I exaggerated that movement to sell the player the idea new air can now move through the tunnels as they forge deeper into the dungeon.
