I remember when I was in art school I was in the studio late at night working on a painting of an eland antelope and the janitor came in and asked me if I knew what an eland was because my painting looked like one and I was just “Yeah dude they’re the biggest antelope species in the world”

And he got excited and went and got out his photo album of his African safari and had me try and name all the plants and animals and I was all “That’s a gemsbok, that’s a baobab tree, that’s a hartebeast” and he was freaking out that I was able to identify these things without ever having been to Africa myself

And I didn’t have the heart to tell him the only reason I knew was because of playing Zoo Tycoon
